Cafe Au Lait Information

From the moment you step into Cafe Au Lait on 7th Ave NE in Poulsbo, WA 98370, United States, you get the feeling you’ve wandered into a local favorite that everyone in town already knows about. The cozy little diner has that polished‑but‑comfortable vibe, where the smell of freshly brewed coffee mingles with warm pastries and makes you want to linger longer than you planned. The location is easy to find just off the main stretch, and locals will tell you this is the spot for weekend brunch or a casual lunch with friends.

As you glance at the menu, it’s clear the kitchen takes its offerings seriously without fussing over them. Breakfast classics sit alongside inventive twists like lemon ricotta pancakes that are light and fluffy with just the right hint of citrus, and savory scrambles loaded with fresh, seasonal veggies. The coffee program is solid - the signature pour is rich and smooth, and they’ve perfected their espresso drinks so well that even the simplest latte feels special. A personal favorite was the house‑made chai latte, spiced just right and paired beautifully with one of the buttery croissants that rotate daily in the pastry case.

What really sets this place apart is the service. Staff greet you like they’re genuinely happy to see you, not like they’re reciting a training script. One morning, when the diner was buzzing with regulars, a server took time to chat about where the eggs were sourced and which local farms supplied the produce, making the whole meal feel more connected to the community. It’s the kind of attention to detail that makes people leave great reviews and come back week after week.

There’s an easygoing hum to the atmosphere, too. Whether you’re nestled in a corner with a laptop or sharing a booth with family, the natural light and warm wood accents create a relaxing backdrop. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and you’ll often notice folks chatting about their next visit before they’ve even finished dessert.

For anyone exploring Poulsbo or looking for a reliable local spot to grab a bite, the menu variety, friendly service, and welcoming ambiance at this diner make it worth adding to your list. It’s the sort of place where good food and good conversation go hand in hand.

What People's Say About Place

Great coffee and food. Very nice people that own the shop. I particularly love the Mabrochi and an Americno .

Fantastic food with a Lebanese flare. They have pastries (Nutella cake, sfouf, namoura, anise cake)that you can't get anywhere else in the area, and the coffee is awesome. We're lucky to have this cafe here and my family will definitely return!

How have I only just discovered this place?! I stopped in and thought it would be just a coffee place, but this gem has so much more… I got a feta sandwich which as a warm fresh soft pita stuffed with crisp cucumber, sweet juicy tomato slices, and creamy crumbled feta cheese! Absolutely delicious and it was very reasonably priced (under $6). I also saw their homemade baklava cooling from just out of the oven. I saw on the menu that they have lots of Lebanese options on their menu. I’m so excited to try their falafel (from scratch!) and chicken shawarma.

Surprising find! Went in for some pastries only to find a full Mediterranean menu! Have some truly unique menu items and a super laid back and homey atmosphere. Pictured is a tumeric Latte, it's like a pumpkin spice latte but way healthier.

Fantastic lunch and friendly service. The gyros were good, but the chicken shwarma was where it’s at. It was absolutely outstanding and the garlic sauce was splendid. The spicy creaminess really complimented everything it was on. The shwarma sandwich had a perfect combo of ingredients and was served on really nice toasted hoagie bread, that I’m pretty sure was baked in house. Would highly recommend and we will be back.

Update: Try the Lentil Soup!! Salads and sandwiches have been great and owners/staff are friendly. Very clean and everything is done with care. Photo is a view from an inside table.

This cafe is wonderful! The coffee was strong and delicious. We had the feta sandwich, hummus toast, baklava and the macaroon. Everything was so delicious. The prices are really reasonable too for what you get. The owners are really sweet and so friendly. I’m so glad my daughter and I found this gem of a coffee shop and cafe. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

Wonderful coffeshop, with a stellar menu and a fine cappuccino! Prices are very fair, the staff is incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the quality is stellar.
